The almost impossible Devel Sixteen, a hypercar that promises more than 5,000 hp, makes its appearance and is getting closer to its production. Dubai-based company Devel has been teasing for years with its mega Devel Sixteen concept, but it seems plans to build this diabolical hypercar are finally coming to light.

Maybe tech enthusiasts are familiar with the term vaporware, meaning software that has been announced for years but never really released, or presented after a long time. A term that can also be perfectly accorded to the Devel Sixteen, the highly anticipated and highly anticipated 5,000 HP hypercar that aspires to the throne of the fastest production car in the world. But which, unfortunately, has very few times been seen in motion.

We began to hear about it in 2006 and fifteen years later it seems that we are facing a reality. We are talking about the Devel Sixteen, a hypercar from Devel Motors that will make the rest of the royalty of supercars pale with its four power figures ( Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Ferrari, Pininfarina, among others)

And the fact is that the first images of the Devel Sixteen have just been published on the test track. It is a model that boasts a whopping 5,000 hp of power , capable of reaching speeds of over 560 km / h thanks to its 12.8-liter V16 engine.

For those who still do not know this beast, here is its concept

Just for comparison, the Bugatti Chiron, which is considered a benchmark, boasts only 1500hp. Those in the know claim that Devel Sixteen is a hyper sports car the world has yet to see.

Devel Sixteen, from 0 to 100 km h in 1.8 seconds

Steve Morris Engines was the firm chosen to prepare the engine of the Devel Sixteen . This engine is a V16, 12.3 liters, supercharged by four 81 mm turbos that delivers 5,076 hp and a maximum torque of 5,094 Nm. At first, the engineers did not get a test bench capable of reaching such power. The test bench they had, “only” reached 4,000 hp.

The engine power of the Devel Sixteen is brutal. To give us an idea of what it is, just think that it reaches a power greater than three Bugatti Chiron together. Also, at Steve Morris Engines, they ensure that the engine is already finished and ready for the Devel Sixteen.

The Devel Sixteen will be powered by a powerful 12.3-liter V16 engine with 4 turbochargers, and its maximum output is reported to be around 5,000 horsepower, enough to accelerate faster than any Formula 1 car, and its maximum speed can reach an incredible 560 km / h (350 mph).

Now, the problem is how they are going to make the structure of the Devel Sixteen support the 5,076 CV. We already know the problems that the Bugatti Chiron had and has when making the chassis, finding the suspensions, the brakes and even the right tires. In fact, the tires are the biggest problem, how are they going to prevent them from disintegrating with such power.

The body of the Devel Sixteen is inspired by the design of combat jets and is made of carbon fiber. In any case, the car is not characterized by being light, quite the opposite. It is that the huge engine must already weigh more than 1 ton. The total weight of the car is around 2,300 kg.

The firm in charge of completing the project is Defining Extreme Vehicles Car Industry LLC and their job does not look easy. A few years ago, it was promised that the Devel Sixteen would accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 1.8 seconds and reach a speed of 560 km / h.

Powertrain

Before talking about the exterior design and of course the cabin, it is necessary that we go directly to what is most striking, the powertrain, and we already know why, due to its more than 5000 horsepower, these are generated by an engine 12.3-liter aluminum block V-16, which has 2 valves per cylinder plus 4 turbochargers, which produce an intake pressure of 20 psi, that is, 1.38 bar, with gasoline of 92 octane and up to 36 psi , 2.48 bars but with high octane gasoline. The exact power number is 5007 horsepower at 6,900 rpm and 4771 Nm of torque at 6,600 rpm with high-octane gasoline, however, with 92-octane gasoline the power drops to 3006 horsepower and 3263 Nm of torque, to conclude, this car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 1.8 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 560 km / h, it is a car for crazy people.

The exterior and the cabin

I think I should start this part with its measurements, in such a way that this hypercar has a length of 5.30 meters, 2.41 meters wide, 1.27 high, 3.46 meters of wheelbase with a weight of 2,300 kilograms. As for its design, it is extremely incredible, in fact its rear part looks like something out of one of the Batman movies with those two gigantic exhaust outlets, which when the car is started one expects fire to come out of them, in fact the car It is longer at the back than at the front, that is the strength of its design, because the engine is there, at the back.

The Devel Sixteen offers an aerodynamic design in its entirety, especially the front which is exaggeratedly pointed, that is, if this car with its exclusive design does not break the air while it is rolling at high speeds nothing will. So far there are only two, a metallic dark gray with black details and a white with black and red details, really beauties, and of course the LED technology in their slim headlights makes an appearance without any waste.

Like any super sports car it only offers two doors but this time they have a seagull design, which when opened gives us a great width to approach and enter the cabin, where we find 2 more than comfortable seats, compact and with all the safety necessary to be able to drive this beast to maximum control, in fact the non-traditional design of the steering wheel left me speechless, because in all fairness it is not a steering wheel but a rudder of a spaceship, that is, it is a rectangle, which It only has slight curves on its sides, and the steering wheel has 8 buttons in which it locks in total control of this powerful car.

What do you think of this car?
